Teaching

Teaching

In every class I teach, I seek to engage students in the messiness of doing mathematics. I draw on a variety of approaches (including Reading Apprenticeship, Complex Instruction, and IBL) to create classes in which students solve problems collaboratively, engage with mathematical texts, and build a sense of community.

I'm currently thinking a lot about co-requisite support structures for mathematics, supporting active learning in coordinated courses, and the role of literacy in the undergraduate mathematics classroom.
